"Health Marathon" Held in Districts
The "Health Marathon" month, an initiative of the Namangan Regional Health Department, is underway in the districts, aiming to promote a healthy lifestyle among the public, treat various diseases, facilitate their early detection, and prevent risk factors.
The marathon, which kicked off in the Mingbulok district and is scheduled to run until September 30, began with the "5,000 Steps for a Healthy Life" campaign, featuring the participation of hundreds of doctors and nurses from the district medical association.

As part of the events, specialists in seven fields, including oncologists, ophthalmologists, and traumatologists, who traveled from the regional center to the remote district, are conducting medical examinations for the public. This, in particular, enhances the ability to detect complex diseases early and refer patients for the next stage of treatment.
Notably, in-depth medical check-ups were organized not only at the multidisciplinary central polyclinic but also at family polyclinics in the Serharakat, Qolgandaryo, Paxtakor, and Farovon mahallas, which, first and foremost, created greater convenience for residents. People no longer need to travel long distances for a health screening, as essential medical services are being brought closer to their own neighborhoods.

"We are overjoyed that such benevolent efforts to strengthen public health are reaching even the most remote corners of our region," says Ulfatoy Mahramova, a resident of the Guliston mahalla. "Taking full advantage of the arrival of qualified doctors from the city of Namangan, our entire family was able to undergo a medical examination."
According to Obidjon Qo'ldoshev, the head of the district medical association, 720 residents of Mingbulok participated in medical check-ups on the very first day of the marathon. Of these, 36 underwent mammograms and 112 had ECGs. Where necessary, patients were given referrals to inpatient facilities for treatment.

"Health points" set up in densely populated areas of the Mingbulok district also became a key component of the marathon. Citizens in whom health changes are detected during the screenings are being referred for additional medical tests. The objective is not to detect diseases late and resort to complex treatment, but rather to identify them at an early stage and take timely action.

Significantly, this preventive medical work is not limited to medical institutions alone; informational sessions on healthy lifestyles, disease prevention, and health preservation are also being held in schools and kindergartens.

Throughout the "Health Marathon," a continuous series of activities is taking place, ranging from walking events and medical check-ups to early diagnostics, preventive care, specialist consultations, and public outreach efforts.
