“Clean Hydrogen for Uzbekistan”
The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) are working on the “Clean Hydrogen for Uzbekistan” project.
Representatives from ministries, organizations, and industry specialists attended an event marking the project’s launch. They discussed the project’s strategic objectives and the next steps for implementation.
This project aims to develop this sector in the country and is funded by the Korea Green New Deal Trust Fund, which operates under the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Republic of Korea.

According to the Head of Department at the Ministry of Energy, Bekhruz Mirzayev, Uzbekistan is making comprehensive efforts to develop clean hydrogen energy.

“As part of the project, conditions will be created to reduce carbon emissions, modernize the energy system, and promote the widespread use of green energy sources across nearly all regions”, said Bekhruz Mirzayev. “The development of clean hydrogen production will drive the creation of a new industrial and export sector, as well as boost the country’s investment appeal. The project not only supports the modernization of the energy sector but also represents an important step toward environmental sustainability and moving to a green economy”.
The “Clean Hydrogen for Uzbekistan” project is a key step in the country’s shift to a low-carbon energy system, modernizing heavy industry sectors, and opening new industrial and export opportunities.
