China – Central Asia: Fourth Forum on Human Rights Development
On May 14, 2026, Tashkent will host the Fourth China - Central Asia Forum on Human Rights Development, with representatives from China and Central Asian countries participating.
The event will be organized by the China Foundation for Human Rights Development (CFHRD) and the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Key priority areas for cooperation between China and Central Asian countries on human rights will be discussed at the event.
To realize the right to development, prospects for cooperation in implementing projects to reduce poverty and improve people’s well-being, address environmental issues, advance green development, and protect human rights, as well as the promotion of digital intellectual technologies in human rights, will be discussed.
Representatives from China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, including experts, scientists, government officials, and business leaders in the field of human rights, will take part in the discussions. In total, about 100 people are expected to participate in the event.
The fourth forum is devoted to the joint promotion of human rights progress through high-quality development.
The first forum was held in Beijing on September 12, 2023, the second in Astana in June 2024, and the third in Xi'an in July 2025.
