Azerbaijani Studies Center named after Yusif Qarabaghi opens in Bukhara
As part of the Days of Azerbaijani Culture and Arts being held in Bukhara, the Azerbaijani Studies Center named after the prominent Azerbaijani thinker, philosopher, and scholar Yusif Qarabaghi was opened at Bukhara State University.
The center was established to study and promote the scholarly legacy of Yusif Qarabaghi, who lived and worked in the 16th and 17th centuries, and to strengthen academic, literary, and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
The opening ceremony was attended by the leadership and faculty of Bukhara State University, representatives of the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan Cultural Center, researchers, and students.
During the event, participants discussed the centuries-old ties of friendship, shared historical roots, spiritual values, and cultural heritage that unite the peoples of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. Particular attention was paid to prospects for developing cooperation between the two countries in education, science, and culture, as well as strengthening academic ties and passing on historical heritage to future generations.
Following the official ceremony, participants toured the center and became familiar with its facilities and opportunities for research and educational activities.
A roundtable discussion involving representatives of the university and the Azerbaijan Cultural Center was a key part of the event. The discussion addressed historical and cultural ties between the two peoples, the shared scientific and literary heritage of the Turkic world, and prospects for deepening cooperation in education and science.
As part of the event, the delegation donated books to the Azerbaijani Studies Center. The donation will significantly enrich the center’s collection of academic and educational resources and broaden students’ and researchers’ knowledge of Azerbaijan’s history, national culture, literature, art, and spiritual heritage.
