A Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the National Center for Human Rights and the Academy of Justice
The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Center for Human Rights and the Academy of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place.
The teaching staff and students of the Academy of Justice, employees, and doctoral students of the National Center for Human Rights attended the event.
In his speech, Academician Akmal Saidov, Director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan, briefly outlined the goals and objectives of the document.
In particular, he stressed that the cooperation aims to establish close interaction in developing curricula, methodological and regulatory materials, and conducting fundamental, applied, and innovative research on human rights protection in the work of a new generation of judges and judicial system staff, as well as preparing scientifically sound conclusions and recommendations aimed at improving legislation and law enforcement practice.
Issues related to introducing the educational modules “Human rights”, “Women’s rights”, “Children’s rights”, “International human rights standards related to the activities of internal affairs bodies” into the academy’s educational process, as well as the widespread use of modern pedagogical and information-communication technologies, distance learning, interactive and problem-situational methods of teaching and conducting trainings were also discussed.
During the event, the parties exchanged views on implementing tasks stipulated in the National Program for the Development and Support of Reading Culture for 2020-2025, as well as the National Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of human rights. Special attention was paid to the development of library activities.
Following the meeting, 200 copies of legal literature and manuals published by the National Center were donated to the Academy of Justice's library fund.
Director of the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan Murad Turgunov also took part in the event.
