Culture, art and tourism potential of Uzbekistan are presented in Japan
The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan together with the administration of Minato district (Tokyo) and the International Cooperation Agency held a broad presentation of culture, art and tourism potential of Uzbekistan within the framework of “Minato International Festival at Tokyo Tower”.
The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan together with the administration of Minato district (Tokyo) and the International Cooperation Agency held a broad presentation of culture, art and tourism potential of Uzbekistan within the framework of “Minato International Festival at Tokyo Tower”.As reported by the Press Service of the State Committee on Development of Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the festival was attended by representatives of the administration of Tokyo and Minato, cultural, academic, business and mass media of Japan, as well as diplomatic missions of about 40 countries.
Within the framework of the event, various presentations, concerts and exhibitions took place. At the festival, Uzbekistan was represented by an exhibition stand, where national gold embroidery and silk clothes, suzane, various products of folk and applied art, ceramics, musical instruments, as well as miniatures were demonstrated.
The visitors of the festival got acquainted with the rich history, culture and art of Uzbek people, with photo books about Uzbekistan, brochures with tours offered by Japanese companies to the republic.
Visitors became interested in information about historical and architectural monuments of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Tashkent and Termez, which are the key centers of the ancient Great Silk Road.
Deputy Mayor of Minato Akira Oyaizu noted that the present festival is intended to make the culture and art of foreign people closer to the people of Japan. A colorful presentation of Uzbekistan presented the unique culture with diversity in the art and crafts of Uzbek people to the Japanese public. According to him, people of Japan appreciate that the ancient land of Uzbekistan played a key role in development of international cultural exchanges on the Great Silk Road. Therefore, the rich architectural and cultural heritage of Uzbek people attract attention of Japanese travelers.
