Uzbekistan’s Deputy FM holds virtual talks with the Minister of State for European Affairs of Ireland

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Gayrat Fazilov, has held virtual talks with the Minister of State for European Affairs at the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ireland, Thomas Byrne.

The parties discussed the state and prospects of Uzbekistan – Ireland cooperation, issues of enhancing interaction in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas, priorities for the development of inter-parliamentary ties.

Special attention was paid to cooperation between the two countries within the framework of such international structures as the European Union, the Council of Europe, the OECD, the OSCE, the UN and others.

The parties considered the intensification of trade, economic and investment cooperation through the establishment of a direct partnership between businesspeople, the creation of the Uzbek-Irish Business Council, the implementation of joint investment projects involving Irish investments and technologies in Uzbekistan.

Irish businesspeople were invited to attend various economic and investment forums in Uzbekistan to establish practical cooperation.

Proposals for establishing interaction in education and tourism were also considered.
