On August 28-29, Cyprus hosted the World Beach Sambo Championships.

The athletes competed in the weight category of 58, 71, 88 and over 88 kilograms, and female athletes in the weight category of 50, 59, 72 and over 72 kilograms. The championships were attended by athletes from 15 countries.

Uzbekistan’s Oybek Dustmuradov (88 kg) successfully held qualifying competitions and won a bronze medal at the World Beach Sambo Championships.

In the qualifying round, Uzbekistan National Team overcame all the rivals. In the semifinals, it became third in the team event together with Romanian sambo wrestlers, losing to the Russian team.
