Uzbekistan’s athletes performed very successfully at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games.

Olympic Games winner Ulugbek Rashidov won a gold and Niyoz Pulatov a bronze medal in the taekwondo championships. Gulomjon Abdullayev rose to the highest step of the podium in the freestyle wrestling championships.

Rasuljon Abdurakhimov, Abdulla Azimov and Khabibullo Ergashev won silver in the gymnastic all-around team event. R. Abdurakhimov also won a bronze medal in the single all-around. Azizbek Boynazarov received a silver medal in para-swimming.

Uzbekistan national team has strengthened its position among 56 countries, winning five gold, six silver, and 12 bronze medals.

Shooting, taekwondo, swimming, athletics, and wrestling championships will take place today. 11 athletes will defend the honor of the country in the weightlifting championships.
