On April 1, the first online meeting of Uzbekistan – UAE Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group was held in the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan.

It was emphasized that despite the difficulties of the pandemic, in 2020 the trade turnover between the two countries reached $209.3 million. There are 151 organizations with UAE investors operating in Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, a member of the Committee on Industry, Construction and Trade, head of Uzbekistan – UAE Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ulugbek Vafoyev, presented detailed information on the activities of the chamber and the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan.

The head of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Committee between the UAE and Uzbekistan, Nidal Mohammed Al Tunaiji, noted that the Emirates will continue their efforts in accordance with the agreements signed between the two countries on the development of inter-parliamentary relations.

Following the meeting, the parties reached an agreement on the further development of friendly relations and exchange of views.
