On March 11, political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Spain took place via videoconference, Uzbekistan MFA reports.
The delegations of the parties were led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov and State Secretary for Foreign and Global Affairs of Spain Ángeles Moreno Bau.
The state and prospects for the development of relations between Uzbekistan and Spain in political, trade-economic, investment, tourism, cultural-humanitarian and other fields were discussed at the meeting.
The main attention was paid to the intensification of economic diplomacy. In this context, proposals to increase mutual trade turnover, the implementation of joint investment and agricultural projects were considered.
Certain aspects of interaction within the UN, the EU and other multilateral structures were analyzed.
Mutual interest was expressed in deepening cooperation in the medical sphere, establishing contacts between scientific and educational institutions.
The parties also exchanged views on expanding the legal framework of cooperation through relevant and practically significant documents.
