Saint Petersburg hosted International Sambo Tournament for the Cup of the President of the International Sambo Federation (FIAS).

Almost a hundred athletes from 20 countries took part in the competition.

Uzbekistan’s sambo wrestlers won four silver medals and took third place in the team event.

Athletes from Russia won five gold medals and took first place. Sambists from Georgia took second place in the team event with two gold medals.

The prize fund of the competition is $189 thousand. 

Members of Uzbekistan National Team, who have successfully performed at the International Sambo Tournament, will take part in the World Beach Sambo Championships to be held in Cyprus on August 28-29.
