President of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Arif Mammad oglu Hashimov visited the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.

According to the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, issues of expansion and further development of cooperation between the academies of sciences of the two states were discussed at the meeting.

Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding on scientific cooperation was signed. It is planned to conduct joint research on scientific and scientific-technical problems of mutual interest and importance for the economic and social development of the two countries, organize joint scientific conferences, symposiums, workshops, meetings and working meetings, assist in the training of scientific personnel, exchange scientific information and publications, participate in other mutually agreed scientific and scientific-organizational activities.
