
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev met with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobaev, in Bishkek.
Mr. Torobaev noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are rapidly developing in the spirit of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership. This year will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
According to the results of 11 months of 2022, the trade turnover between the two countries increased by 21 percent compared to the same period last year, its volume exceeded $500 million. It is envisaged to increase this figure to $2 billion and more.
In turn, Jamshid Khodjayev spoke about the intentions to deepen bilateral ties, continue work within the framework of signed agreements.
As previously reported, on January 26-27, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a state visit to Kyrgyzstan.
During the visit, it is planned to sign several documents, and hold Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan Business Forum.
