
Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev has met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to Uzbekistan Daniel Rosenblum.
According to Uzbekistan MIFT, the parties discussed the current issues on the agenda of multifaceted Uzbekistan – American cooperation. They noted with satisfaction the significant progress in bilateral and regional partnerships, achieved thanks to mutual interest and the desire to build up multilateral ties.
The parties comprehensively considered the prospects for deepening cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. In particular, in the first half of 2022, there was an increase in mutual trade by 31%, thus reaching $247.5 million. Specific steps have been outlined to intensify trade relations and expand the range of import-export operations.
During the dialogue, the possibilities of developing investment collaboration and industrial cooperation were considered. Over the past few years, the number of enterprises with American capital in Uzbekistan has doubled and amounted to 315.
Daniel Rosenblum expressed the commitment of the United States to continue supporting Uzbekistan in the process of joining the World Trade Organization.
Following the meeting, confidence was expressed that the agreements reached and the initiatives discussed, with effective implementation, would give a new impetus to the multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States.
