15:12 / 2024-09-18

The regular meeting of the Territorial Election Commission of Navoi region on holding elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and local councils of People’s Deputies took place.

The meeting, which considered the issue of forming precinct election commissions, was chaired by the chairman of the Territorial Election Commission, Shukhrat Jurayev.

As noted, precinct election commissions are the main link in the election process. They face an enormous and responsible task.

To date, 11 district and city election commissions have been formed in the region, and 40 district election commissions have been established for holding elections to the Regional Council of People’s Deputies, and their composition has been approved. In addition, according to articles 10 and 20 of the Election Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Regulation of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the procedure for the formation of electoral districts and precincts”, the territorial election commission established 430 polling stations.

Through the “E-saylov” system, the territorial election commission received submissions from the city and district Councils of People’s Deputies with recommendations of candidates to the precinct election commission, from the heads of penal institutions and military units, and letters of recommendation to candidates to the relevant territorial election commissions from among the employees of these organizations.

The Territorial Election Commission examines the submitted candidates in accordance with the established procedure.

The composition of 430 polling stations was approved at the meeting. Opinions were also expressed that training for members of election commissions was organized and conducted at a high level in the region.
