Congress Center of the International Tourist Complex “The Great Silk Road” in Samarkand hosted a solemn event on the occasion of October 1, Teachers and Mentors Day.

This complex, which recently hosted a major international forum with the participation of the leaders of fourteen countries – the Samarkand Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, held the second prestigious event – Teachers and Mentors Day, which is another clear confirmation of the high respect shown in Uzbekistan to representatives of the education sector.

Self-sacrificing teachers and mentors who arrived from all regions of the country were welcomed in Samarkand. Before the ceremony, the guests got acquainted with the opportunities and conditions created in the complex, built at the initiative of the Head of the state. The guests liked the Eternal City complex, which embodies a huge creative potential, culture, millennial traditions and values ​​of Uzbekistan people, a unique heritage of national handicrafts.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s congratulatory message to teachers and mentors on the occasion of their professional holiday was read out by the Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov.

 “In my opinion, a teacher is a person devoted to his mission, a highly intellectual person who keeps up with the times, and a school is an abode of enlightenment, where the foundation of the Third Renaissance is being laid”, the President’s opinion expressed in his congratulatory message further encouraged the participants of the solemn event.

As noted in the congratulatory message of the Head of the state, today it is difficult to achieve the goals and objectives set before us without reforming the education system. In the process of formation of the New Uzbekistan, young people with high knowledge and thinking are the force that ensures the consistency of reforms and progress. Undoubtedly, they are brought up in various educational institutions by dedicated teachers and mentors.

It was noted that the authority of the teacher is, first of all, the authority of the nation, of the entire people. Therefore, in recent years, large-scale reforms have been carried out aimed at increasing the role and authority of teachers and mentors in the life of society, organizing the education system based on the requirements of the time.

According to the recently adopted decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, for a worthy contribution to the development of the education system of the country based on international standards, the successful implementation of reforms in the sphere, the widespread introduction of advanced national and foreign experience into the educational process, innovative pedagogical and information and communication technologies, large merits in teaching young people the basics of science and modern professions, increasing their intellectual potential on the path of building New Uzbekistan and creating the foundation of the Third Renaissance, exemplary activity in the formation of a healthy and harmoniously developed generation, it's upbringing in the spirit of love and devotion to the Motherland, respect for universal values, as well as active participation in public life, a group of teachers and mentors, were awarded honorary titles, they were awarded orders and medals.

A solemn presentation of these awards took place at the festive event.

Teachers who received high awards expressed their deep gratitude to the Head of the state for the respect and honor shown to them.

Masters of arts and young performers of the country presented a festive concert program.

The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva attended the solemn event.
