Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia Kaha Imnadze visited the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the meeting with Senate Chairperson Tanzila Narbayeva, the current state and further plans for cooperation with the UN and its specialized agencies, including the UNRCCA, were discussed.

Views were exchanged on continuing the ongoing work to ensure close good-neighborliness between the region’s countries, economic growth, peace, and stability.

Along with this, attention was focused on ensuring gender equality and realizing the potential of young people, including issues related to education. In this direction, an agreement was reached on the joint development and implementation of target programs through effective parliamentary control.
