On June 14, Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov reported on the events of the past week.
On June 8, the President of Uzbekistan chaired a videoconference on ensuring employment of the population through the development of agriculture, entrepreneurship and the service sector, increasing production in livestock, poultry and fish farming.
The main attention was paid to the issue of more efficient use of agricultural land. A mechanism is being worked out to provide agricultural land for rent for 10 years to the unemployed.
“The grain harvesting campaign is in full swing”, says Sherzod Asadov. – Lands released after grain harvesting are leased out to the unemployed population for the cultivation of secondary crops. The Presidential Decree “On measures to ensure equality and transparency in land relations, reliable protection of land rights and their transformation into a market asset” has been adopted. Now the practice of direct and free provision of land for entrepreneurship will be completely discontinued. The land will be sold to private ownership or leased using the same transparent mechanism for all – an e-auction.
At the briefing, it was noted that the Head of the state got acquainted with the presentation of projects in culture. The construction of a modern library in the National Park of Uzbekistan, the installation of monuments to Muhammad al-Khwarizmi in Urgench and Batir Zakirov in Tashkent, was discussed.
These structures and monuments will become an important contribution to the enlightenment of young people, educating them in the spirit of respect for the heritage of their ancestors. Officials were instructed to pay special attention to the quality of project implementation.
Information was also provided on the results of a meeting held on June 9 with a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
