Representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Agency for Innovative Development under this ministry, and the National Office for Innovation Implementation and Technology Transfer, as part of the 2023 SPECA Week in Baku, Azerbaijan, took part in the exhibition on “Regional cooperation for sustainable development”.
The event was organized as part of the 25th anniversary of the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) to showcase the economic potential of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The exhibition presented Uzbekistan’s national products and services in automotive and mechanical engineering, light industry, electrical engineering, construction, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, education, and innovation.
As part of the SPECA Week, the Director General of the National Office for Innovation Implementation and Technology Transfer Farkhod Jumayev met with Kazakhstan’s Turan free economic zone representatives.
At the meeting with company representatives, issues of transferring advanced technologies in this area to Uzbekistan and establishing an exchange of experience between the two countries with the involvement of industry experts were discussed.
A memorandum on the development of cooperation in science and technology was signed with the leading company of Azerbaijan, Azericard.
At the exhibition, agreements were signed among the SPECA states on the commercialization of projects worth $548 thousand.
