Minsk hosted Uzbekistan – Belarus Healthcare and Medical Education Days.
The event took place in two stages, the first of which was held in Uzbekistan on November 13-23. These days, highly qualified doctors from Belarus, in close cooperation with colleagues, performed several surgical operations and provided advisory medical services in medical institutions of Uzbekistan.
During the same period, representatives of the pharmaceutical business of Belarus were in Uzbekistan. They held negotiations to harmonize regulatory requirements to optimize the registration processes of medicines produced in Belarus and Uzbekistan. Issues of mutual trade in drugs produced in the two countries were also discussed.
The event’s second stage was marked by holding of the Belarus – Uzbekistan Medical Forum in Minsk. Uzbekistan delegation consisting of over 230 specialists arrived in Belarus, led by the Minister of Health Amrillo Inoyatov. Visits were organized to Belarusian Republican Scientific and Practical Centers, clinics, and universities not only in Minsk, but also in the regions of Belarus.
Following the forum, over 120 agreements were signed: a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in Healthcare between the Ministry of Health of Belarus and the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, a Memorandum on the creation of Belarus -Uzbekistan Center for Regenerative Medicine, as well as a laboratory for the production of biomedical cell products in Uzbekistan, a Memorandum on manufacturing medicines based on blood plasma in Uzbekistan.
The final event of the medical forum was signing an action plan for cooperation.
