The Palace of Culture of Railway Workers in Tashkent hosted the opening ceremony of the Piyazov Academy, the first professional vocal school in Uzbekistan. At the ceremony, the artistic director of the Academy, People’s Artist of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan Jenisbek Piyazov presented general information about this educational institution.
– The idea of creating the Academy arose two years ago, – said Mr. Piyazov. – At the Academy, classes will be conducted in three directions. The first is classical direction – opera. Ten people will be accepted for this course. The second direction is stage and maqom. The third direction is the development of eloquence and voice technique.
It is envisaged that famous opera performers from Italy will also conduct classes at the Piyazov Academy. Every year, one or two students will be sent to study in Italy on a grant basis.
The Bravo orchestra, consisting of 40 people, is expected to collaborate with the Academy.
