New cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan
13:39 / 2023-11-23

Baku hosted a meeting between the Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction Bekhzod Musayev, and the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan Sahil Babayev.

The parties discussed the implementation of agreements reached during the meeting on October 20 in Tashkent and further steps to enhance interaction between the two countries’ ministries.

The Minister of Labor of Azerbaijan expressed sincere gratitude for the high-level organization of his visit to Uzbekistan in October this year, during which he visited the Ishga Markhamat monocenter in Samarkand and got acquainted with the conditions created in Uzbekistan for organizing vocational training for the unemployed.

Following the meeting, bilateral agreements were reached on regulating labor relations, organizing inspections by ensuring transparency, and introducing innovative methods of monitoring compliance with labor laws. The parties agreed to develop and approve an action plan.

As part of the visit, the Uzbekistan delegation visited the Agency for Sustainable and Operational Social Security, where experience in providing more than 140 types of services in employment, social protection, and pensions, including the provision of benefits and scholarships based on the “Single Window” principle, was presented.

Based on this experience of Azerbaijan, cooperation will be established in Uzbekistan to create a comprehensive digital service center in employment.
