The Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov met with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobaev and the Minister of Economy and Commerce Daniyar Amangeldiev, in Bishkek.
The parties considered the work on preparation for holding a business forum with the participation of representatives of the business circles of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The possibilities of implementing major joint projects to organize the production of commercial vehicles and cars, the construction and expansion of spinning and textile enterprises, and the production of building materials were discussed.
The parties also agreed on the joint implementation of investment projects in agriculture, considering the creation of intensive orchards and high-tech greenhouses in the two countries.
The preparation of the project for the construction of the “China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan” railway was considered. An agreement was reached on signing a step-by-step roadmap indicating specific deadlines for each stage of the project implementation.
The prospects for implementing joint projects in the energy sector, particularly the construction of the Kambarata HPP-1, were discussed.
Over the past 6 years, trade between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan has increased 8 times, reaching $1.3 billion in 2022.
