The gallery of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan hosted an exhibition entitled “Homeland on Maps”, organized by the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan together with the Embassy of the Turkish Republic and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
As part of the exhibition, held in connection with the 100th Anniversary of the Turkish Republic and the 32nd Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a fashion show “Uzbek and Turkish motifs in outfits” was also held.
At the exhibition “Homeland on Maps”, which also presents maps of the Turkestan region, most of which were compiled by famous geographers and are stored in the collections of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, information is given about the origin of the Turkic peoples, the territory of their distribution, the routes along which they passed during their migration to the West.
The originals of these maps, as an example of the friendship and brotherhood of the two states, were donated to the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Samarkand.
During the fashion show “Uzbek and Turkish motifs in outfits”, costumes selected from the personal collection of a designer from Samarkand Hamida Inoyatova were demonstrated.
The exhibition and fashion show were dedicated to the friendship of the two states, bound by centuries-old ties of brotherhood.
