The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan has developed and submitted for public discussion a Draft Public Health Code.

The document consists of general and special parts and includes 200 articles.

Article 130 defines the requirements for ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population. In accordance with it, legal entities and individuals must comply with sanitary rules and hygiene standards aimed at ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population in the following cases:

– in the development of regulatory and technical documentation;

– planning, design and construction of facilities, technical and technological re-equipment and start-up of enterprises;

– transportation of chemicals, biological agents and materials, their storage, application, neutralization, and disposal;

– excavation, production, creation, processing of radioactive materials and other ionizing radiation sources, storage, use, maintenance, transportation, neutralization, and disposal.

Delivery and production on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan of new chemicals, biological agents and materials, polymeric and plastic masses, cosmetics are allowed only with the permission of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Uzbekistan after their toxicological and hygienic assessment.
