
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov took part in the ministerial meeting of the countries of Central Asia and the United States in the “C5+1” format.
According to Uzbekistan MFA, at the virtual event, the heads of the foreign ministries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the United States discussed the current issues of cooperation within the “C5+1” and exchanged views on the regional agenda.
Proposals were considered to strengthen practical cooperation in the economy, security, combating climate change, as well as the situation in Afghanistan.
Mr. Abdulaziz Kamilov noted that there are opportunities to intensify cooperation in the “C5+1” format through the implementation of programs to minimize the consequences of climate and environmental changes, ensure green economic growth in the region, coordinate efforts to combat the pandemic, increase mutual trade, investment and transport links.
