
Tashkent hosted a Young Parliamentarians Forum as a part of the 150th IPU Assembly. Issues of international cooperation and sustainable development were discussed at the event.
This significant forum was dedicated to discussing ways to enhance the engagement of young politicians on a global scale, fostering inter-parliamentary cooperation, and addressing factors that threaten sustainable development.

Within the framework of the forum, the Standing Committee on Sustainable Development discussed parliamentary strategies aimed at reducing the long-term impact of conflicts, including armed conflicts, on sustainable development.
The long-term consequences of international political crises and armed conflicts, as well as their impact on socio-economic development, were discussed at the event.

The role of parliaments in ensuring peace and stability in crisis regions, the effectiveness of international cooperation, and the implementation of new initiatives were considered.
A new President of the Bureau of Young Parliamentarians was elected at the forum. Nour Abu Ghoush from Jordan became the youth leader. He will undertake activities in areas such as increasing the participation of young people in the international parliamentary system, promoting their initiatives, and safeguarding their interests on a global scale.

Other current issues were also discussed at the event. In particular, new initiatives have been proposed to increase youth participation in political processes and further enhance their representation in the international arena.
