A workshop and training session on “Technology for extracting essential oils from plants containing aromatic compounds” was held at the Denau Institute of Entrepreneurship and Pedagogy with the participation of Siddhivinayak Barve, a professor from the Scientific Research Centre in Mumbai, India.

In modern industry, essential oils are widely used in producing paints and varnishes, perfumery compositions, soap, food essences, and toothpaste. They are also utilized in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. The development of technologies for extracting essential oils from plant-based raw materials will, in the future, help expand the potential for local production of these products.

As part of the workshop and training session, the professor was introduced to the research facilities available at the institute, its academic programs, and the pedagogical approaches being implemented.
