The Jessup Team of Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) has achieved a historic milestone at the 2025 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition held in Washington, D.C.

For the first time in WIUT’s history, the team advanced to the Top 16, standing shoulder to shoulder with some of the world’s most prestigious universities, including Harvard, Oxford, and Moscow State University.

The team, composed of Commercial Law students Mariya Sattieva, Karimakhon Khabibullakhoja, Rukhshona Oralova, Sevarakhon Abdusaidova, and Jahongir Bahodirov, demonstrated exceptional legal skill and perseverance. They successfully advanced through the Preliminary Rounds, the Top 48, and the Top 32, before reaching the highly competitive Round of 16.

A remarkable individual achievement came from Karimakhon Khabibullakhoja, who was ranked among the Top 30 Oralists globally – a distinction that highlights the team’s exceptional performance on the world stage.

This outstanding result is a testament to the students’ adedication, talent, and tireless preparation. Special recognition goes to the team’s coach and mentor, Meyirbek Abdikadirov, external coach Dilshodbek Orifjonov, and the Commercial Law Department, whose unwavering support and guidance played a vital role in this historic achievement.
