President Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the event and, in his speech, congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of Navruz.
He described it as “a true miracle that our people have preserved this holiday with its noble spirit and values throughout the centuries, even during the most difficult and trying times”.
He also congratulated the people of all Central Asian countries who are celebrating the Navruz holiday.
“May our region, which is truly becoming a space of friendship, brotherhood, and cooperation, always remain peaceful and prosperous!” the President stated.
He expressed confidence that the upcoming trilateral meeting of the leaders of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan, scheduled to take place in the city of Khujand at the end of the month, will serve as “another practical step in this direction”.

On March 20, Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited several enterprises and social facilities in Tashkent, where he reviewed the ongoing construction and landscaping efforts in local mahallas. The President also took part in spring tree-planting activities.

The Chilanzar line of the Tashkent Metro will be extended to the Tashkent Tractor Plant area, with ten new stations to be constructed. Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this on March 20 during his visit to inspect Tashkent’s ongoing construction and landscaping projects.
It was noted that there are plans to extend the Tashkent Metro to the area of the Tashkent Tractor Plant. The President had previously instructed that the submitted projects be reviewed and that alternative proposals be considered.
According to the newly developed project, in line with these instructions, the Chilanzar line will be extended to the Tashkent Tractor Plant area, with ten stations to be constructed. This extension will serve thirty mahallas and cover a population of 148,000 people.

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with Abduqodir Husanov, a defender for the Uzbekistan national team and Manchester City football club, the Press Service of the Football Association reports.
During the meeting, the player presented the Head of state with a Manchester City jersey bearing his autograph.
As a reminder, on March 20, Uzbekistan secured a victory over Kyrgyzstan in Tashkent with a score of 1-0. Following the match, Uzbekistan retained second place in Group A with 16 points. Iran currently leads the group with 19 points. The United Arab Emirates and Qatar each have 10 points, Kyrgyzstan has 3 points, and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has 2 points.
Uzbekistan’s next match will be held on March 25 against the group leader, Iran. The game will take place at the Azadi Stadium in Tehran and is scheduled to begin at 21:00.
