The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, attended and addressed the Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit held in Saudi Arabia on November 11. In particular, in his address, the President noted that Uzbekistan is ready to provide free medical care to war-affected Palestinian children and women in the country’s hospitals. Also, during the summit, Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Crown Prince, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.

On November 12-13, Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended and addressed the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan.

During the summit, the Leader of Uzbekistan held several meetings. In particular, Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of the European Council, the presidents of Azerbaijan, Finland, and Montenegro, the prime ministers of the Czech Republic and Greece, the presidents of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Islamic Development Bank, the Director General of the World Trade Organization and others and discussed important issues.

The Strategic Partnership Agreement on developing and transferring green energy between Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan was signed as part of the summit in Baku. It was attended by the presidents of three countries – Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and Ilham Aliyev.

As part of the summit in Baku, a forum on “Leadership of youth in actions on climate change” was organized in cooperation with Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. It was attended by the First Lady of Uzbekistan Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, the First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Lady of Türkiye Emine Erdogan, and the First Lady of Kyrgyzstan Aigul Japarova.

In her speech, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva called on the summit participants to widely support young people’s climate initiatives.

The zero and 84th kilometers of the Urgench – Khonka – Hazorasp – Amudarya River – A 380 highway will be reconstructed. The project’s total cost is estimated at 294 million dollars. For this, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will provide a loan of 238 million dollars for 18 years. The project will be implemented for five years until 2029.

At the meeting in Baku, the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power signed an agreement to implement the project to construct electricity storage systems with a total capacity of two thousand megawatt⋅hours throughout the country.

The project’s total cost is 1,1 billion US dollars.

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan held joint military exercises. “Khanjar” special-tactical training was conducted at the Forish Mountain range in Jizzakh region. The military personnel of the two countries fired various combat weapons, conducted a battle in a conditional population area, and analyzed actions.
