December 10 is the National Anthem Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

On December 10 in 1992, at the Eleventh Session of the Supreme Council, attended by more than 400 deputies, our current anthem, with music by Mutal Burkhanov and lyrics by Abdulla Oripov, was adopted. This date was widely celebrated throughout Uzbekistan.

On December 11, the Chairman of the Central Bank, Mamarizo Nurmuratov, was relieved of his post. Upon the President’s recommendation, senators approved Timur Ishmetov’s candidacy for the position of Chairman of the Central Bank. Timur Ishmetov had previously served as the First Deputy Advisor to the President.

Thailand hosted the Asian Boxing Championships from November 28 to December 11. Uzbek boxers won eleven gold, six silver, and three bronze medals, taking first place in the overall medal table.

On December 12, Moscow hosted the next meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, addressed the meeting.

On December 12, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva met with visually impaired children from Samarkand at the Tashkent Planetarium as part of the “Eye of the Soul” project.

At the meeting, the children shared their creative work, and then, using Dot Pad technology, they had the opportunity to “touch” the solar system.

On December 13, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev called the commissioning of 18 new capacities and the launch of construction of 6 more projects a historic event in the energy sector. The total cost of the projects is 3,700 million dollars. Once these projects are launched, providing 4 million households with uninterrupted energy will be possible.

A social card will be introduced in Uzbekistan. This card will be issued to people needing social protection, allowing them to use 65 state services without additional documents. This card will provide the following benefits: free travel on buses and metro, compensation from the budget for electricity, gas, and tuition fees. Pensions and assistance will also be credited to this card. This system will be tested in Tashkent city and Yangiyul district by July 1, 2025, and launched everywhere by the end of the year.
