To broadly promote Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in the People’s Republic of China, six employees of the prominent state broadcasting company China Global Television Network (CGTN) are conducting a “Central Asia Expedition” media tour in the country.

According to Executive Producer Zhang He, the team will travel across Uzbekistan this week, preparing segments on the growing cooperation in key areas such as trade, investment, infrastructure development, and cultural exchange.

Another project goal is to popularize Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and appeal as a travel destination in China by widely showcasing the opportunities in Samarkand, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Tashkent, and other regions. Additionally, it aims to draw Chinese tourists’ attention to the country’s landmarks and attractions.

The group placed special emphasis on the first day of the newly introduced visa-free regime between China and Uzbekistan, which allows ordinary citizens to travel freely between the two countries for up to 30 days. This initiative is expected to boost tourism development in Uzbekistan.

The visiting media team has already aired a segment about the “Bash Wind Power” project in Bukhara region and today arrived at the BYD electric vehicle plant in Jizzakh.

The “Central Asia Expedition” media tour will continue across Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan, concluding at the upcoming “China – Central Asia” summit in Astana.

It is worth noting that CGTN, the international media organization launched in 2016, broadcasts news and advertisements worldwide 24/7. Delivering impartial and timely news provides the global audience with rich audiovisual services, strengthens communication and harmony between China and the world, and promotes cultural exchange and mutual trust between China and other countries. The organization is headquartered in Beijing and has media centers in Nairobi, Washington, and London.
