A unique event dedicated to Uzbekistan’s tourist attractions is taking place in Tokyo’s most crowded area, the famous Shibuya Crossing.
The largest video monitor in Japan, the size of a basketball court, shows the video “Uzbekistan – the Crossroads of Civilizations”, which introduces the historical pearls of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Shakhrisabz.
The Shibuya Crossing, known as the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world, attracts more than 3,000 pedestrians daily, and about 2.5 million people visit it on weekends. Next to it is a statue of the famous dog Hachiko and one of the largest stations in Japan, where about 5 million passengers pass.
As part of the presentation, a bright flash mob was also held with the participation of artists and dancers from Khorezm region. The audience could enjoy performances of Uzbek national songs and dances, and tourist guides to Uzbekistan in Japanese were distributed among passers-by.
This event not only demonstrates Uzbekistan’s rich culture and traditions, but also contributes to strengthening tourist ties between the two countries.
