In 2023, the “Great Silk Road” e-commerce platform was launched in the Qingdao Economic Zone of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Since then, the number of countries using this electronic platform has reached 31, with Uzbekistan recognized as one of the countries actively expanding its e-commerce volumes.

In 2024, 51 percent of the trade turnover between SCO member states was conducted through the Qingdao platform, totaling nearly $300 billion.
The “Great Silk Road” is a major integrated complex that includes a product exhibition center, warehouses with a capacity of 6.8 million tons, and a transport and logistics hub. Cargo shipped from Qingdao to Moscow reaches its destination in seven days, despite the 9,000-kilometer distance. Goods undergo customs clearance at the e-commerce center in Qingdao and receive authorization for uninterrupted movement.

“Our trailers serve clients in Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Türkiye, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Kazakhstan”, said logistics company manager Chen Zhen. “On the return journey, they carry fruits, meat, and industrial goods. It is expected that after the EXPO exhibition, which will be held in Qingdao on July 17-18, Uzbekistan’s share registered in this Shanghai Cooperation Organization service will increase further thanks to new goods”.
