An international event titled “Italy’s Business Diplomacy in Global Trade and Economic Cooperation” was held in the Italian Senate, during which the large-scale reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan received high recognition.

Senator Mario Alejandro Borghese initiated the forum. One of the key goals of the event was the establishment of a new international platform, the Business Diplomacy Council, aimed at strengthening geoeconomic ties and promoting constructive dialogue between the public and private sectors.

The event was attended by representatives of the Italian Parliament and government, international organizations, business and academic circles, as well as diplomats from Argentina, Morocco, Senegal, Bahrain, the UAE, and Uzbekistan.

Addressing the forum, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Italy, Abat Fayzullayev, highlighted the strategic and multifaceted nature of relations between Uzbekistan and Italy.

The significance of the Agreement on the Mutual Protection of Investments, signed earlier this year between Uzbekistan and Italy, was emphasized, as it opens new horizons for the sustainable development of the bilateral partnership.

President and Vice President of the Business Diplomacy Council, Filippo Maturi and Alessandro Bertoldi, shared their impressions of their recent visit to Uzbekistan. During the trip, they participated in the 4th Tashkent International Investment Forum and the first Samarkand – Lombardy Interregional Forum. The Italian representatives praised the high level of organization of these events and expressed admiration for the ongoing transformations in Uzbekistan in the fields of economy, infrastructure, and interregional cooperation.
