The Uzbekistan delegation attended the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on the Beijing+30 Review in Bangkok from November 19 to 21, 2024.

According to the Press Service of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the country was represented by the Deputy Chairperson of the Family and Women’s Committee, M. Nurmatova, and the Deputy Director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan D. Muratova.

The forum, organized by ESCAP and UN Women, was held ahead of the thirtieth anniversary of the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, which will be celebrated next year. Over 1,200 delegates from government, civil society, youth groups, the private sector, and academia participated in the event.

The participants analyzed progress in implementing the BDPA in the Asia-Pacific region over the past five years, namely those essential actions for achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment.

The event included open discussions for participants from different countries to share their experiences. Uzbekistan’s experience in promoting gender equality, ensuring women’s economic rights and opportunities, increasing their representation in politics and decision-making, and preventing violence against women has received international support and has been recognized as one of the best.

Uzbekistan’s experience in promoting gender equality presented in Thailand
