The Fourth Tashkent Anti-Corruption Forum was held in Uzbekistan.

The event, organized by the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with the European Union, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), and the United Nations Development Programme, brought together more than 250 anti-corruption agency employees, international experts, and representatives of civil society.

At the event, which was moderated by the Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency Akmal Burkhanov, the Chairman of the Senate Committee Narimon Umarov, the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Uzbekistan Toivo Klaar, the Resident Representative for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Uzbekistan Akiko Fujii and others expressed their opinions on the importance of the forum and the relevance of the topic.

The forum was also attended by representatives of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the World Bank, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), GIZ, the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, the Transparency International, the Rule of Law Centre of Finland, as well as heads and representatives of anti-corruption agencies of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Korea, China, Lithuania, Malaysia, the USA, and Tajikistan.

One of the key outcomes of the forum was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the World Bank Integrity Office to cooperate in training personnel, implementing joint projects, and studying methods for combating corruption.

During the award ceremony, the government of Uzbekistan also noted the significant contribution of the media and non-governmental non-profit organizations to the fight against corruption.

The forum successfully held critical discussions on global trends in corruption prevention. Uzbekistan’s achievements in this area were demonstrated. The forum emphasized the country’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation and supporting transparency, accountability, and good governance.
