A delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Preschool and School Education Sherzod Karimov visited Paris, France.

As part of an event marking the 25th anniversary of International Mother Language Day, Mr. Sherzod Karimov met with UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education Stefania Giannini. 

At the meeting, discussions focused on expanding cooperation in education and establishing a second-level regional center for early childhood education development in Tashkent under the auspices of UNESCO.

UNESCO Assistant Director-General Stefania Giannini highly praised Uzbekistan’s progress in early childhood development. She highlighted the country’s efforts to implement modern educational programs and improve teacher qualifications.

At the meeting, an agreement was reached on the possibility of including a dedicated session in the program of the UNESCO General Assembly, which will take place in Samarkand in 2025.

During the visit, Mr. Sherzod Karimov met with Trine Petersen, Senior Education Specialist at Global Partnership for Education. The discussions focused on accelerating the System Capacity Grant project.

Uzbekistan’s achievements in early childhood development recognized
