Uzbekistan, UK expand cooperation in digital development
A workshop on “Digital transformation of the government in Uzbekistan: UK experience” has kicked off in Tashkent.
A workshop on “Digital transformation of the government in Uzbekistan: UK experience” has kicked off in Tashkent. The event is organized by the National Agency for Project Management under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Development Programme in Uzbekistan with the support of the British Embassy in the country.
The opening ceremony of the workshop was addressed by the Deputy Director of NAPM V. Pak, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Uzbekistan Timothy Torlot and Head of UNDP Cluster on Good Governance, Policy and Communication Kamila Mukhamedkhanova.
Within the framework of the event, trainings are planned to be held in strategic planning for digital development of the country, designing user-oriented public services, creating interdepartmental digital platforms, taking into account the best British and international practice.
Participants will discuss the draft National Strategy for Development of Digital Economy “Digital Uzbekistan 2030”, developed by NAPM with the assistance of UNDP and the World Bank, a set of public services related to the birth of a child and registration of disability status. A workshop will also be held on creation of digital platforms, where participants will discuss the prospects for development of identification platforms, notifications and payments in Uzbekistan.
The workshop will last until October 31.
