Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan Amanbai Orynbaev met with Sultan Raev, the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), who visited the Aral Sea Region.

It should be noted that the Organization’s cultural ties with Uzbekistan, which is a full member of TURKSOY, including Karakalpakstan, are reaching a new level.

With the organization’s support, the 200th anniversary of the great poet of Karakalpakstan, Ajiniyaz Kosibay ugli, was widely celebrated in Istanbul last December. The Aykulash Karakalpak folklore ensemble and the staff of the Karakalpakstan Branch of the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan are also actively participating in international festivals of Turkic peoples organized by TURKSOY.

“The Crown”, by the Secretary General of the Organization and the famous playwright Sultan Raev, staged by the staff of the Karakalpakstan State Theater of Young Spectators, is a vivid example of increasingly strengthening partnerships.

At the meeting, the parties expressed their views on expanding cooperation in culture and art and holding international festivals and conferences in Karakalpakstan.
