Uzbekistan to develop SAF and e-SAF production complex project
Allied Biofuels has signed a contract with Sinopec Engineering Group for FEED and detailed engineering, followed by a transition to the EPC stage, as part of a large-scale project to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and synthetic sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF) in Uzbekistan.
The FEED and detailed engineering contract lays the groundwork for the project’s subsequent transition to the EPC stage.
Under the agreement, Sinopec Engineering Group will be responsible for developing the design documentation, systems integration, and preparing cost estimates on an open-book basis for the refining complex, renewable energy facilities, and related infrastructure.
Allied Biofuels is implementing Central Asia’s first fully integrated bioaviation fuel production complex, with total investment estimated at approximately $6.1 billion. The project envisages the industrial production of SAF and e-SAF by integrating biomass processing, advanced refining, renewable energy sources, and Power-to-Liquid technologies into a single industrial platform. Once commissioned, the complex will supply environmentally friendly aviation fuel to both the domestic market and export markets.
Sinopec Engineering Group is expected to draw on its expertise in oil refining, biofuel production, green hydrogen, and integrated industrial infrastructure to develop an integrated engineering solution tailored to the project’s requirements.
