The photo contest “Uzbekistan through the eyes of Japanese tourists” was organized for the first time by the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan, together with the famous Japanese photographer Jin Akino.

The event gathered about 200 participants and more than 1,000 photographs depicting historical and modern sights of such cities of Uzbekistan as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shakhrisabz, Termez and Tashkent, as well as national cuisine dishes.

According to the competition results, the jury selected the 15 best works. The photographs “Divine Light”, “Wedding Dance” and “Breakfast at Home” were particularly noted among them.

The winners were awarded with memorable gifts. The participants stressed that the photo contest aroused considerable interest and played an essential role in popularizing Uzbekistan in Japan.
