Ambassador of Uzbekistan Javlon Vakhabov visited the innovation center of one of the world’s largest construction companies Bechtel in Virginia and met with its President for regions and corporate relations, Stuart Jones.

At the meeting, Stuart Jones praised the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at switching to market economy mechanisms, decisive steps on modernizing priority sectors, as well as regions of the country. In his opinion, the measures taken are important for the industrial, technological and innovative development of the country’s sectors.

The President of the company expressed interest in implementing investment projects in Uzbekistan, including construction of Tashkent – Samarkand and Tashkent – Andijan toll roads, as well as the integrated development of mineral deposits on the principles of public-private partnership.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on organizing a visit by the Bechtel delegation to Uzbekistan in March to conduct negotiations with involved ministries and agencies on the joint implementation of the above projects.
