In January-March 2018 the republic’s foreign trade turnover amounted to 7.9 billion USD, of which exports – 4.1 billion USD, imports – 3.8 billion USD. The balance of foreign trade amounted to 249.4 million USD. This was reported by the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics.

Export of energy carriers and oil products increased by 91.4% as compared to the same period of the previous year due to exports of natural gas by 2.3 times, machinery and equipment by 35.4%, of which boilers, equipment and mechanical devices by 24.6%, transformers and batteries by 68.6%, monitors and projectors by 3.3 times.

The volume of exports of food products increased by 49.9% due to an increase in exports of wheat by 21.6% and fruit and vegetable products by 51.7%. 

In the import structure, the main share belongs to machinery and equipment – 37.5% and chemical products and articles thereof – 14.4%. 

In January-March 2018 the balance of foreign trade amounted to USD 249.4 million, including minus USD 231.3 million with CIS countries and USD 480.7 million with other countries. 

Among the CIS countries the main foreign trade partners are Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan (their share in the foreign trade turnover is 30.3%), among other countries – China, Turkey, the Republic of Korea, Afghanistan, Germany, Latvia, Iran, France (33.4 %).
