Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted Uzbekistan – Russia intergovernmental commission meeting.

The parties exchanged views on the current state of cooperation in the agricultural sector, phytosanitary provision, supply of fruits and vegetables and the roadmap of agro-industrial complex for the medium term.

Main attention was paid to the ongoing activities on the integration of the information system between the two countries. The issue of speeding up the licensing process of Uzbekistan’s Golden Fish Group for export to Russia was considered.

At the meeting, the Director General of LLC RosAgroMarket Y. Nekrasov announced that the first wholesale distribution center is currently being created, which is planned to be commissioned in the second quarter of 2020 in Novosibirsk region. This center will serve as a trade corridor for products from Central Asian countries. The Marketplace information platform will allow to distribute products focused on warehouses within a radius of 700 kilometers from the center.

Chairman of Russia’s Rosrybkhoz Association V. Glushenko noted that cooperation was established between Uzbekbaliqsanoat Association and the fisheries of Russia Angelinskoye and Sharapovskoye. The parties agreed to exchange the seeds of snakefish next year.

Development of the legislation in agriculture between the two countries were also discussed.
