
The Agency for Innovative Development and the Committee for Innovative Development and Information Technology of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized a roundtable discussion on “Uzbekistan in the Global Innovation Index: achievements, challenges and plans for the future”.
Deputies of the Legislative Chamber, representatives of responsible organizations and departments, researchers, and scientists attended the event.
The participants discussed Uzbekistan’s achievements in the Global Innovation Index, the problems that have arisen in the process of developing these indicators, and ways to overcome them, as well as tasks that need to be implemented in the future to improve Uzbekistan’s position in the international ranking.
The Global Innovation Index comprises 7 areas and 78 indicators that characterize the innovative development of countries at various levels of economic growth. In the 2024 ranking, countries were evaluated based on 78 indicators. Uzbekistan has improved its position in 40 indicators. For the first time, 8 out of 10 indicators that were missing for Uzbekistan in 2023 were included.
