The Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov met with Ookla President and CEO Stephen Bye, Chief Strategy Officer Chip Strange, and Sales Director for North Asia and Central Asia Regions, Victor Zeng, during the MWC Barcelona 2025 congress.

The meeting focused on internet development, 5G expansion in the regions, testing innovative technological solutions for mobile operators based on international experience, and implementing joint projects. 

Ookla is a leading organization specializing in measuring and analyzing global Internet speed. 

It was highlighted that Uzbekistan has made significant progress in internet speed in recent years. According to the Speedtest Global Index, Uzbekistan ranked 133rd in 2020. As of January this year, the country has increased 65 positions in the rankings.
