On August 26-30, Samarkand will host the 13th International Music Festival “Sharq Taronalari” under the auspices of UNESCO.

According to tradition, this time, foreign guests and media representatives who have their place in the global media space will also attend the festival. The Editor-in-Chief of Qatar’s leading publication, the “Al Sharq” newspaper, Jaber Al Harami, visited the Uzbekistan National News Agency today.

It was noted that Uzbekistan continues its efforts to further strengthen strategic partnership with the Arab countries of the Gulf, in particular, with Qatar. The guest was informed about the positive changes in the country’s media space.

It was emphasized that tourism, economics, and anti-corruption collaboration are actively developing between the Uzbek and Arab people. In this process, regular information exchange on the reforms carried out in our countries is important.

Having stated that “Al Sharq” is interested in establishing relations with UzA, Jaber Al Harami expressed readiness to develop and sign a draft memorandum on improving mutual relations at the level of modern requirements, expanding the scale of information exchange, and systematically improving the qualifications and experience of employees.

‘This is my first time in Uzbekistan, and from the first day, I have had warm impressions”, Jaber Al Harami said. “Relations between Uzbekistan and Qatar are developing very actively today. These ties are strengthened thanks to mutual visits of the heads of the two states. A common culture, religion, history, and literature unite us. In Qatar, everyone knows your great ancestors: Imam Bukhari, Imam Termizi, Abu Rayhan Beruni, Ibn Sina, and Alisher Navoi. Objectivity and reliability are essential in exchanging information about important events in our countries. And in this sense, establishing a partnership with the Uzbekistan National News Agency is very timely. Taking this opportunity, I congratulate the people of Uzbekistan on the upcoming holiday – the 33rd anniversary of the country’s independence. I wish every family in Uzbekistan prosperity, well-being, and further development for the country”.
